ILLUSTRATIONS BY SPECIAL GUEST ARTIST, SILURIAN
Silurian’s Bio Such women also were also capable of great stylistic flourish when the opportunity presented itself and at that point the job would be done properly. Hats, properly tailored suits, stockings, stilettos and silk dresses were 'de rigeur' in days gone by along with perfectly executed makeup and hair and woe betide the woman or man who was felt to have let the side down and be less than immaculate. Such people were not short of self-regard or self-respect and it is only in the Catholic countries that one seems to see such influences today. As for art, I have never had a drawing lesson in my life. I regard this as a gift, and one that hitherto has lain undeveloped. I have been able to draw figures and perspective scenes in perfect detail and with absolute recall since I was a small child, but coming from a modest background did not develop it, except when employed fleetingly as a draughtsman almost thirty years ago. Priorities lay elsewhere and it is only in latter years, since the beginning of the 1990's that I have taken up the re-discovered German draughting pencils and amused myself with vignettes of former female colleagues, acquaintances and other muses dressed immaculately as I remember them. This I do as the spirit moves me, and when I start a sketch I do not know what kind of woman will end up looking back at me. I let the pencil do the talking. All artists (if that is what I am) have muses, and some of mine are: The Hitchcock Blondes, The women of Fassbinder's FGR Trilogy, actresses such as Catherine Deneuve, Charlotte Rampling and Kristen Scott-Thomas to name just a few who exude that air of mature mastery and effortless elegance that evoke a visceral reaction in those with even a fleeting interest in stylish and characterful women. Other influences have been John Willie, Bill Ward, Chris Pizzinga and Eric Stanton. To those of us of a certain age 'Bizarre' and 'Exotique' have a lot to answer for. The Internet has brought us offerings from many, many others and the erotic FemDom genre seems to go from strength to strength. It is definitely subtler and more powerful than some aspects of sexuality with its emphasis on stylish modes and stylistic behaviour and such fetish accoutrements as are required to excite arousal. I look forward to being able to contribute my own musings to this rich display of creative imagery. Wales has Sir Anthony Hopkins and Catherine Zeta-Jones, Tom Jones and Shirley Bassey and now its own erotic femdom artist - and that may put me in a majority of one!.'
